Program Details: From RAHMA to AMANAH community training
Seminar Objectives:
Participants will demonstrate a nuanced and practical understanding of the RAHMA principles for responding to disclosures of violence through role playing and the opportunity to practice using case studies.
Training participants will collaboratively map out the organizations in the room, as a means to understand roles, collaborations, services provided, and plans for moving together as a united community.
Participants will demonstrate an understanding of the AMANAH principles by identifying 2-3 SMART goals for their organization, within a one-year time frame, in addition to listing activities that will help them accomplish their AMANAH-based goals.

Background Information:
HEART and MWO have been in contact and collaboration training the Muslim community about sexual violence and how to respond with RAHMA.
Part One: In September 2019, HEART staff members Sameera Qureshi and Navila Rashid facilitated a day-long training with MWO staff and other Orlando-area professionals geared towards how to respond with RAHMA principles in the moment someone discloses about being sexually abused. Feedback from the training was collected and since then, debrief conversations and future plans have been discussed, as MWO and professionals in attendance are dedicated to deepening their work with the AMANAH and ADALAH principles. MWO is excited about moving forward with building their knowledge and capacity around the AMANAH principles, as the next step.
This program is coordinated by MWO's Violence Against Women Task Force. To get involved or for more details about the event, email Esra'a at VAW@mwo-orlando.org or call Sadaf at 407-821-0770.
