Our last Heart-to-Heart virtual book club of the year is on Wednesday, December 2nd from 8pm for as long as the conversation and tea flow. Join us as we discuss "Conditional Citizens" by Laila Lalami.

All are welcome, even if you haven’t finished the book. The event takes place via Google Meet. For details about how to join, email sadaf@mwo-orlando.org.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
What does it mean to be American?
Pulitzer Prize-finalist Laila Lalami recounts her unlikely journey from Moroccan immigrant to U.S. citizen, using it as a starting point for her exploration of the rights, liberties, and protections that are traditionally associated with American citizenship. Tapping into history, politics, and literature, she elucidates how accidents of birth - such as national origin, race, and gender - that once determined the boundaries of Americanness still show their shadows today.

CHECK THIS OUT - Book Discussion on YouTube gives a sneak peak about the topic, and is handy if you don't have time to read the book:
