As part of our comprehensive Gender Equity and Social Responsibility Initiative, MWO has created a Women’s Action Network for women in leadership roles at mosques and Muslim organizations throughout Central Florida.
Through mutual support, shared experiences, and skills training from experts in specific fields, we plan to impart the resources and skills needed to be capable and compassionate first responders meeting the needs of the Muslim women in crisis at their respective institutions. Our hope is that when a woman reaches out for help in her time of urgent need, she is met with people who understand her needs, and know how to help get her the help she requires.
The first training in this series will focus on responding to common issues and areas of concern when dealing with women going through marital problems and divorce.
The session will be divided in 3 parts: (1) Counseling and Therapy, (2) Divorce and Family Law, (3) Support for Divorced women.
Presenters include: Imam Abdurrahman Sykes and Sr. Farhana Yunus.
Suggested Donation: $10/attendee (Collected at the door)
You do not have to be part of the Women’s Action Network to attend, all are welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
