Hakima Training Program Information Session

  • Muslim Women's Organization 2813 S. Hiawassee Road, Suite 103 ORLANDO United States (map)

Through her training, our Hakima, Amany, learned so much that she believed would benefit other women in our community who are in positions where others turn to them for help.

Often we find ourselves not knowing what to say or how to be there to support someone else when it is our duty as Muslimas to care for our families and our community.  So Amany developed a “Hakima” training program to help increase and refine these skills.  “Hakima” means wise woman.  Our goal is to facilitate the training of wise women throughout the community so that women in need always know they are not alone and can turn to someone who is able to guide them through their difficult times. This is not a substitute for psychological or physiological help, it is someone who can refer the women who need it to get further specialized assistance, and share resources to care for women's well-being. Because they don’t know where to go, oftentimes, women turn to our imams when they are struggling.  But our imams have their hands full leading the masajid and worship, dawah, and a multitude of other initiatives.  We wanted to make sure others in the masajid and community were there to meet the need and relieve some of the burdens that has fallen on the imams.

All of the information, including the topics covered and schedule and the application form can be found at: https://form.jotform.com/mwo/hakima

There is a cost associated with this program, and a certification will be provided. The funds will help pay for the facilitator as well as support the organization.  But we do not want it to restrict anyone from benefiting.  We have scholarships available, and if you are interested, please also submit the scholarship form (link in application form) when you apply
