Pink Party

  • Muslim Women's Organization 2813 S. Hiawassee Road, Suite 103 ORLANDO United States (map)

Our annual Pink Party plan is being updated to make sure women can attend our community's Prayer for Palestine scheduled for Sunday at the time we had originally planned for our Pink Party! Since it is hard to celebrate when our hearts and minds are focused on our Palestinian sisters and brothers, we have decided to refocus this event. We will be meeting at the MWO HUB immediately following Saturday morning's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Join us as we acknowledge and recognize the strength, resilience and wisdom of our survivors and learn about risk factors while sharing some pink foods, pink activities, self-exam demonstrations, tips, and Breast Cancer Q&A.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, except for skin cancers. It is about 30% (or 1 in 3) of all new female cancers each year.

The American Cancer Society's estimates for breast cancer in the United States for 2022 are:

  • About 287,850 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women.

  • About 51,400 new cases of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) will be diagnosed.

  • About 43,250 women will die from breast cancer.

We envision a future where our children no longer live with the threat of breast cancer and where everyone has a fair and just opportunity to prevent, find, treat, and survive this disease.
