“I now see how owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.” - Brene Brown
We carry so much in our hearts as women, as Muslims, as daughters, as mothers, as partners and as friends. We are creating a space for you to connect with other Muslim women, have conversations about our lives, our struggles and our stories while working on creative projects as a form of expression and release.
Our heARTwork gatherings will take place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month (except during holidays). The activities and topics will vary. Absolutely no previous art skills are required, the point is just to talk while we focus on a creative activity.
RSVP Required using form below.
Topics will include:
Personality types
Love languages
Coping with loss and death of loved ones
The struggles and effects of unrealistic beauty standards
Importance of lifting each other up
Confidence and self worth
Dealing with conflict and disagreement
Mental wellness
Unrealistic expectations
Importance of prioritizing your body's needs by resting.
Activities will vary and may include coloring, painting, candle or soap making, knitting, collages, etc... (if you have any ideas, email Rihab@mwo-orlando.org)
