About heARTwork

We carry so much in our hearts as women, as Muslims, as daughters, as mothers, as partners, and as friends. We are creating a space for you to connect with other Muslim women, and have conversations about our lives, our struggles, and our stories while working on creative projects as a form of expression and release.

Giving & Receiving comfort

Comfort is understood as both a state of physical ease and the alleviation of feelings of grief or distress. We often find ourselves as comforters, but it’s important that we make space to receive comfort from those around us, as well. We’ll be discussing the ways we give and receive comfort during this month’s heARTwork gathering. Acknowledging that the Prophet (SAW) was sent as a comfort for this world, we will draw from the examples he provided as a comforter of many inshallah.

During our discussion we will be making floral bouquets to take home and enjoy, or give to someone else. Flower arranging is a relaxing way to unwind and create something beautiful at the same time. No experience required! We’ll have several flower types and colors for you to choose from and give you some general guidance, but this is a chance for your creativity and personal preferences to shine.
